The Warriors are in the midst of 7-straight games away from Royal LePage Place, as the Sweetheart Tournament from Kelowna Ringette takes over almost all the ice surfaces in the Okanagan over the next three days.
You won't hear anybody really complain about the games away from home lately, as the Warriors have found success, winning four straight away from home since losing to Vernon on January 22nd. The Warriors are 5-0-1-0 in their last six games.
Jonathan Desbiens and Liam Blackburn had the goals in a 2-1 double overtime win on Wednesday in Coquitlam, as Keelan Williams earned the 1st star making 35 saves, including 5 in the 4 on 4 overtime session.
West Kelowna has seen their penalty kill improve to 6th in the BCHL, killing off 20 of their last 22 penalties during the 5-game win streak, including 2:46 in overtime Wednesday.
For the Smoke Eaters, they have entered "must-win" territory, trailing the Vernon Vipers by five points with eight games left to play. The Warriors will expect the Smoke Eaters to play desperate hockey to keep their playoff hopes alive.
